SMEAZ INTERNSHIP PROGRAM FOR YOUTHS IN HARARE, CHITUNGWIZA AND BULAWAYO (GRADUATES, ATTACHMENT, INTERNSHIP STUDENTS)

(Please spread to your networks, particularly in Bulawayo)

The SME Association of Zimbabwe is running an internship program for attachment students as well as young graduates between the ages of 20 and 35 years in Harare, Chitungwiza and Bulawayo. This program is meant to prepare interns for the work environment, as well as give them a minimum three-month internship, which can be extended on the basis of satisfactory performance.

The internship program gives a comprehensive work-readiness training program, Passport To Success ®, followed by a three month on-the-job training period as an intern. Thereafter depending on performance you can become a permanent employee at your place of internment or at another identified location.

The Passport To Success program gives interns the following key soft skills, among others:

• Goal-setting
• Making a positive first impression
• Assertiveness
• Problem-solving and managing conflict
• Effective work habits
• Keys to being a good employee
• Money and time management skills
• Marketing yourself

Cost of participation is a one-off, non-refundable payment of $20. Note that being an internship program, no salary will be paid, but a nominal stipend/allowance will be given to enable interns to get to work and home.

We are inviting applications from eligible youths (20 to 35 years) and especially women to participate in the program. We will be interning students in a wide variety of disciplines but initially we are looking at the following programs:

• Entrepreneurship
